"Vitamin C Method" Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
- 12oz Strong white flour
- ½oz Fresh yeast
- 1 vitamin C tablet
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 teaspoon Syrup
- ½ oz Lard
- 7 ½ floz tepid Water
Method
- Blend together water, tablet and syrup and yeast.
- Rub fat into flour.
- Add liquid to make dough. Knead well and form into twelve rolls.
- Brush over and bake for around 10 minutes at 190C-200C.
Editors note: We originally thought one of the ingredients on this recipe was a bit odd (vitamin C tablet!?) however a quick bit of research revealed that this is indeed a technique that people use for baking bread which helps the yeast to grow.
