Salades Pour William
Ingredients
- 1 ripe Pear per person
- 1 large Egg
- 2 tbsp Caster Sugar
- 3 tbsp White Vinegar
- 2 tbsp whipped Double Cream
- Chopped Walnuts to Garnish
- Lettuce
Method
- Beat sugar and egg together until thick and white, add vinegar.
- Place basin in pan with hot water and cook until thick, stirring. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
- Stir in lightly whipped cream and some pepper. Leave to chill.
- Peel and core Pears to place cut-side-down on lettuce leaves.
- Spoon over dressing and sprinkle on nuts.
Serve with brown bread and butter.
Editors Note: As this recipe bears a resemblance to "Prince William Salad" elsewhere in Sheilas notes, it is fairly safe to assume the identity of the titular "William" of this recipe.
