Ingredients

  • 8oz Soft Margarine
  • 8oz Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Treacle
  • 12oz Plain Flour
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 ½ tsp Ground Ginger
  • 2 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Pt Milk

Method

  1. Melt together margarine, sugar and treacle.
  2. Beat in two eggs.
  3. Sift all dry ingredients.
  4. Add Bicarb to warm milk.
  5. Beat treacle mixture into flour then add milk. Beat well.
  6. Turn into a deep 12x8 lined tin and bake for 35 minutes at 170C
